The fact that we speak about red coat today has nothing to do with the fact that the age of hell has begun in US...
November is officially upon us, which means temperatures are going to start plummeting at a fairly steady rate. Until now, we’ve been getting by just fine with our many blazers, little fall jackets, and thin sweaters, but there’s no denying it’s just about time to break out the big guns. The winter coat. Or, more specifically, the super-bright winter coat. Why? As we sure as hell can not drown into the darkness 24/7 and we need to bring some funk to the city.
Indeed, when it comes to looking chic and fabulous a black or a camel overcoat will never (ever) not be a viable option, but why dont we rethink this season the idea that a coat always has to be neutral. In fact, according to many many fashion magazines and previous fashion weeks, a coat shouldn’t always be neutral. Unexpected colours do not only brighten up your face during the cold winter months, but when styled correctly, can completely modernize a winter outfit.
Think you can’t pull off a crazy-bright winter coat? Dont be kidding me. Its a lot easyer than You think.
Firstly if You are scared that You ll look to extravagant from You other colegues or friends, dont. Its more than normal to not stay attached to grey , beige , black tones in winter. Honestly it shows that You are not afraid to mix it up and show Your personality.
Another moment is that woman wearing bright tones is a confident and edgy person. Which You would never miss out in the street. Also when it comes to those days of grey sadness the right toned coat can be ur ultimate saviour.
So how should we wear super bright colour coats?
Since You do not want to look like a clown , make sure Your base ( anything that goes under the coat) is minimal and aesthetic. Meaning stay low on the under colorit. Wear tones such as black, grey, white, beige or dark green. Then You ll look classy, minimal and fashionable.
How to choose the right colour? Personally for me red was the best option with what I have in my closet, as my main tones go to black side. If lets say Your closet is filled with brown tones, go for green or yellow coat. Also red is a very classy colour, so even if it screams bloody hell bright, it still stays classy! And well we all know that red is a colour of elegance, charm and bravery. So in case You are still thinking go with red and make sure everyone around know who You really are!
Matching - make sure while wearing a bright piece, to not push more than 3 tones per outfit. And well don't forget Your sunnies, as snow is about to fall out!
